Module Squad

NERO-Atlanta Module Group

Welcome to the NERO-Atlanta Module Group (Mod Squad). The Mod Squad is a committee for NERO-Atlanta, dedicated to soliciting and generating new story material for NERO-Atlanta. The Mod Squad will be producing and running modules at events, as well as hosting seminars and brainstorming sessions. Mod Squad is also a forum for development of plotline and weekend ideas before formal submission to plot committee. If you have an interest in module writing, running modules onsite, casting, playing or equipping NPCs, or just want to help NERO-Atlanta then you are in the right place! Mod Squad "members" may elect to work onsite, or they may choose only to participate in the workshops and seminars - choose a level of involvement that suits your interest and schedule.

Statement of Purpose: The NERO-Atlanta Module Group will develop and execute small plotlines and modules under the supervision of the NERO-Atlanta Plot Committee. The Module Group will also host seminars and brainstorming sessions open to the general player base, for the purpose of collecting and refining plot ideas of all kinds.

Functions of the NERO-Atlanta Module Group:

Module Generation: The group will generate 5 - 10 modules per event, emphasizing repeatable modules and lower-level interactions. Group members with module marshal status will execute those modules onsite under the supervision of the plot committee.

Module Marshall Training: Volunteers may be trained and certified as module marshals.

Module Execution: Group members who volunteer may staff an onsite Adventurer's Guild (currently the Stormwatch Garrison), gathering groups of players and running modules generated by Module Group or given to the group by Plot Committee. Players may choose to assist OOG or may involve their PCs in the running of the Garrison.

Submission Guidelines and Development: Module Group will assist in the development of formal plotline submission guidelines and module outline formats, under the supervision of plot committee.

NPC Sourcing and Coordination: Module Group will recruit and costume NPC's for its activities and will provide such services to plot committee as requested.

Seminars and Workshops: Module Group will host both structured seminars and free-form writing workshops to improve the quality of submissions and encourage creative development.

Plot Submission Generation: Module Group members will have a formal access to Plot committee and will be encouraged to submit plotlines and event ideas.

Important Note: While Mod Squad will be responsible for coordinating its own activities, both onsite and off, Module Group is not an independent group or a second plot committee, it is a subsidiary of NERO-Atlanta Plot Committee, and is subject to supervision at all levels. Module Group has an open roster policy - "members" carry no special authority in NERO-Atlanta, save for certified module marshals. Joining Module Group does not automatically carry module marshal certification. Some volunteers may be given special authority or permanent positions with the module group at the specific dispensation of the NERO-Atlanta Plot Committee. The Chairmen of the Module Group and are currently Bruce Hunter and Brett Chrisner; Veaya Weddington is currently Module Group's Plot Liason.

On and off site coordination positions are still available; interested persons should respond via feedback forms or in person. Module Group will beginn the creation of a new organization system for area-specific plot tools (Examples: The Keep Box - a central repository of Keep items, NPC's and props; The Rogue's Gallery - a central book of Tyrangel's notable NPC's; The Library - In-game documents!). As props coordinator, Buddy Landreth will be heading this effort, which will begin with a mod squad visit to the NERO-Atlanta storage cubicle!
