A Tyrangel native, Amaris Blackwind has served as a noble in these lands since 596, when she was 17 . First under Her Highness, Rosalind Frederick when that notable was Seneschal to then Count Roderick Daleron. Then as a Knight in the Barony of Marentha until the founding of the County of Marentha, whereupon she was elevated to Seneschal (or demoted, depending on your point of view).
During the upheaval that surrounded the time anomoly, she remained in the Vale of Tyrangel, trying to find a way home. The temporal shifts that were the result of the Sorcerer King Drax Darshiva's foul plot caused the virtual destruction of the Vale as it was. When time was restored, nothing was the same.
Tyrangel's rich and vibrant history was gone. Simply by surviving, the people of Tyrangel had changed the face of their world. While this saved the people of the land from countless attacks by the Harbingers, the Black Riders, and many others, it also negated every act of heroism, bravery, and sacrifice that had made the Vale what it was. And caused paradoxes that remain to this day. Amaris feels that the only good thing to come out of that journey through time is her daughter, Rosalind Kyrien Blackwind.
When His Highness, Arturus "Bane" Frederick, was acclaimed Prince of the new Principaliy of Westhaven, he made Amaris his Seneschal and bade her to oversee the lands surrounding the Gallyamath Forest in his name. However, His Majesty, King Mykel Endarr felt that this should not be, so he ordered Amaris stripped of that title as Seneschal, but allowed her to continue to maintain and hold the Gallyamath for the Duchy, in the name of the Prince.
In November of 606, Prince Arturus Frederick decided that a Countess was needed to oversee what was once the Baronies of Wulfshire and Marentha. He elevated Amaris to this title and responsiblity on the 18th of November.
When not dealing with plagues, undead armies, Sorcerer Kings, and the various evils that beset Marentha, Amaris enjoys spending time with her daughter, playing poker, watching the belly dancers, and drinking to excess.
