John Claymore was raised in the
Marenthan city of Zanor. He and his father
hired themselves out to the local merchants as guards and did well at it.
Soon after the Bradens gained control as the Magistrates the nature of
the jobs changed. The men who would once protect the merchants were forced
to take jobs in "Merchandise Control". The Bradens would order raids on
the merchants' cargo and keep the goods for themselves.
This change in function led to
John's father being badly injured. By the time he arrived back in town
his wound could not be healed and he lost his arm. John never forgave the
Bradens or the mercenaries for his father's loss. The family would have
soon died had John not stepped in as the source of income and began taking
more jobs.
He remained working and supporting
his family until Dame Amaris Baeyear and several
of her companions stepped in and had the Bradens relieved of their
positions - and their heads. It was out of gratitude and a strong desire
to right the wrongs he had done that John joined the Zanor Town Guard.
Recently, he resigned from this position so that he would have more time
to devote to his studies of the blade and the Celestial arts. John has
always done what others could not and is a strong spirit to add to our
Barony.
