Kitsune is a bit of an enigma. He suddenly arrived in the town of Stormbridge in spring of 601. The fact that his arrival coincided simultaneously with the dispersion of a magical phenomenon called the Black Wind, the destruction of a powerful lich, and a full moon suggests that his existence may very well be entirely due to magical causes. He is best described as a bipedal fox, since he insists that "scavenger" is not the proper terminology for what he is. When actually asked what he is, he is not very forthcoming with information. To be more specific, it seems that he doesn't remember -- it is thought that either he was just brought into existence in spring 601, or that some cataclysmic event has ruined his memory in some way. He exhibits a great interest in, to put it in his own words, "retrieving the fragments that have been ripped from my mind."

Despite his defective memory, Kitsune has shown himself to be an extremely fast learner when he is around other races -- in fact, it's rumored that he didn't even speak the common language when he first arrived in the tavern, but had nearly mastered it by the end of the evening. His clothing, speech pattern, and fighting style are reminscent of that used in the dark elven city of Kirishai -- he seems to have an intimate knowledge of the underground city for a surface dweller. In fact, Kitsune speaks the language of the dark elves fluently enough to surprise even the proudest of the dark elf race. He is skilled at preparing dark elven food and owns a small restaurant in the city of Manath where he serves a variety of speciality Kirishai dishes and drinks. He has been known to assist at the tavern during various market gathers, but when he's not working or training, he's out adventuring with his friends -- he's frequently seen traveling with Sir Trevor Tenshi, Raven de Danaan, and Michiko Tenshi. He specializes in Earth magic, and has a particular interest in ancient spells and long-extinct races, but other than that, he's shown himself to be somewhat knowledgeable of war tactics. He's also extremely lightfooted, and very frequent are the times when he'll walk up behind someone unseen and unheard in the dead of night and begin a conversation, scaring the poor person out of their mind.

He's very polite, and people generally seem to think of him as honest to a fault, extremely kind, very helpful, and he's even been awarded a medal of valor by Her Excellency the Countess Rosalind of Marentha. If he has a shortcoming, it must be that he is primarily nocturnal, so it's difficult to find him during the hottest part of the afternoon. He was oathsworn to the Barony of Argentum in November of 601.
