Luciean was born in the spring of 582 to Ilya Anderson, wife of Fontayan Anderson. They were part of a band of traveling outcasts. The whole group of them, numbering around 40 had all been banished from their towns due to rumors of necromancy.

While growing up on the trails Luciean was exposed to many races and cultures. He learned to fight with the other children of the group and his older brother, Fontayan Anderson Jr. He never liked to fight; he was always more interested in catching people off guard with small traps he was learning to from one of the older men in the group.

Abraham Hastring, more commonly known as Sticky, because of his fondness of other people’s belongings, was one of the oldest members of the group. Having no family of his own, he was delighted to teach what he knew to Luciean. Traps and other rogue skills were of quite an interest to the little boy.

Life was relatively easy for the group, they just had to stay away from their original towns and keep to themselves. While out with his brother and several other of the groups young men on a hunting expedition in the Falcon Forest, things went horribly wrong. He was separated from the hunting group. He stumbled around for hours lost in the woods. He generally liked nighttime, but on this one evening, it didn't quite enjoy his company. He was chased from the forest by a pack of wolves, and over the next couple of days he traveled along the Oriket River. He stayed in a hayloft on the outside of Vinyannon for two days to rest. He looked for any work possible in Vinyannon but no one would give him more than an odd look. He continued along the water to Quilldale and didn't have much better luck there, either. After several weeks of travel, he ended up in Manath

Luciean stayed in what seemed to be an abandoned barn. He stayed there for around a month when it suddenly became of some use, much to his surprise, and the surprise of its owners. Having not been able to find a job, and with his "home" gone, he signed up for a position with the Baronial Guard, hoping that he could put his skills to use and have a place to sleep. He thought that would be nice for a change. He was accepted into the guard and now keeps an ear out for mentions of a group of wanderers. If he hears of any he feels the uncontrollable urge to go search for his family.
