Manath was almost totally destroyed during the Sutherland war by the Sessuar. Baron Bane, then a Knight of Wulfshire, began rebuilding in early 597. Now, as of this writing, the reconstruction has been completed. It is one of the only walled cities in the County and has the largest port. Trade from Quentari and the Kingdom of the Sea is helping defray the massive costs of the rebuilding.

The city is divided into "quarters." The most unusual of these is "Low Town," the hobling part of the city. Baron Bane resettled a community of hoblings that lost their home to the war. Rumor has it that Dame Amaris spends a good deal of time there, as the chairs in the many taverns are more to her liking. Low Town boasts crafthalls of every type imaginable and their merchants are always looking to strike a bargain.

On the 1st and 15th day of every month, Squire Larry hold low court in his capacity as Magistrate. On the 15th of every month, Baroness Frederick holds High Court. Except for the month of August, for she believes that no one should have to work on their birthday.
