All right. I really don't know what to say here, but I hope to allay some of my Baroness' regret and frustration by writing something about myself. Now, how I'm supposed to transport my "colorful dialect" into writing, I'm not quite sure. At any rate, I'll give it a try.

I came to Tyrangel round three years ago. I ran into my brothers Wolf and Bear; now before you go and start asking yourself if my Mum were daft to name us after animals, let me just tell you that Mum gave us normal, well mostly normal, names. My brothers and I each went on a spirit quest to find our Totem Spirits and took the names of the animals that are our Totems. Anyroad, I'm getting off the track; I ran into two of my six brothers and we spent a few months in town getting to know folk and learn our way about.

Wolf and Bear have disappeared since then, but another brother of mine, named Panther, showed up. And although he's in Tyrangel, he never writes or comes to visit. I hope you read this at some point, Panther. Maybe then you'd send me a letter or two. If you see Panther, could you ask him to drop me a line? At least to let me know where I can reach him.

Sorry; got off the track again. To make a long story somewhat shorter, I wound up swearing fealty to the Baroness. I've been in her service since then, trying to keep her from dying and doing what I can to help out in building this Barony. My chief duty is running the Baronial Guard. I've written a little about them elsewhere, although there are volumes and volumes that I could write. But you probably wouldn't be interested in reading that much about lads and lasses you've never met.

The more time that goes by, the happier I am that I'm a part of Marentha. I was a wanderer for a very long time; I had no home any longer. For a long while I had nothing and no one. Then, after coming to Tyrangel, I met wonderful people and gave my service to a magnificent woman. And since she's been building her Barony, in addition to friends, I've gained family. For the first time in a long time, I have a home. And I'm not just talking about a place to sleep and eat, but a place where I belong. I had a family growing up as a lad, and then, for various reasons, I left my Mum and Da and brothers. And then I had no one. And now, again, I have family. I hope you all can experience the miracle of having a family of your own choosing.

Oh sure, we may squabble and fight, we may poke fun at each other (and no comments about tavern maids, please my Liege), we may get mad and not speak to one another. But when you boil it down, we're family. We stick up for one another, support one another, and comfort each other. I'm glad I'm here.

By the way, my Liege, you'll be glad to note that I'm getting at least 5 hours of sleep a night, regular, thanks to one of the lads. Although I think with all of those sleep poisons he's slipping into my drinks, I may be building up an immunity.
